Learn More About Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)
A health savings account (HSA) is a tax-exempt trust or custodial account to be used for paying qualified medical expenses. For eligible individuals, HSAs provide potential tax advantages, and there are no "use-it-or-lose-it" restrictions. To be eligible to open an HSA, you must enroll in a qualified high-deductible health plan, such as BluePreferred Saver or BlueClassic Saver.
Are you Eligible for Portability Coverage?
If you have lost group health coverage, or you are transferring from a Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield plan in another state, you may be eligible for individual coverage without medical underwriting. Use the links below to learn more about individual portability coverage and conversion coverage.
